Peace in the Valley, Cindy

We have a great selection of tomato and pepper plants on sale for $2 each. It’s not too late to plant! We still have lots of herb plants, including 7 varieties of basil. We also have young onions and scallions.

Succulents, cat grass, microgreens, dried lavender and white sage, and eggs. Strawberry, tomato, eggplant, and pepper plants for home gardens. Also, a huge assortment of culinary and medicinal herbs. Live herbs: basil, oregano, sage, thyme, rosemary, French tarragon, mint, lavender, marjoram, salvias, chamomile, valerian, catnip, marsh mallow, clary sage, stevia, lemon verbena, pineapple sage, purple fountain grass, and many more.
Shepherd’s Whey Creamery

Shepherd’s Whey artisan goat milk cheeses for this coming weekend:

Chevre: Seasonal Chevre – last week to snag your tub of June’s variety, “Garlic and Chive” – sautéed garlic blended into our fresh chevre with finely chopped chives. This classic flavor is a favorite every year. Swing by for a sample at market.

Routine Chevres: Basil, Black Pepper and Classic

Feta: Greek style Feta in quarter or half pound portions in the brine, aged in brine 2 months. First Place Feta at the 2019 ADGA National Goat Cheese competition.

Bloomie Rinds:

Napoleon’s Peak – our Pyramid shaped ashed bloomy (my personal favorite of all our cheeses).

Snow Buttons – a cute little 1/4 pound patty of ashed bloomy.

Classic Camembert – a wheel of ooey gooey goodness.

Fresh Ricotta – made fresh each Friday available in 1/3 pound tubs.

Aged Semi-hard cheeses: This week we will have:

Alpsiago – this Alpine style cheese has been living her best life in our underground aging caves for 14 months. This is the first batch of 2025 – lovely texture, bits of sharp flavor crystals, a great snacking cheese.

Potomac Sunrise – our most awarded cheese, taking first place semi-hard cheese and Best in Show at the ADGA 2021 National Goat Cheese Competition. This curd-washed cheese has a nutty flavor.

Crescendo! – this is our take on Manchego, a Spanish cheese traditionally made with sheep milk. The white flesh juxtaposed against the chocolate brown rind makes this a really pretty cheese for your cheese board.

Goatgurt – a spoonable cultured treat with live active yogurt cultures.

Goatgurt Smoothies: A gut healthy drinkable yogurt available in Strawberry, Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla.
